Mount Etna, towering above Catania on the island of Sicily, has one of the world’s longest documented records of volcanism, dating back to 1500 BCE. This stratovolcano is high as 3324 m, which vary due to frequent eruptions, and covers about 1,200 km², thus being the largest active volcano in Europe.
Magma mixing dynamics at Etna, with the associated quasi-static ground deformations, along with time-dependent deformations and tilt signals are under investigation.
